South Australian residents - Adelaide Thinker in Residence, Dr Genevieve Bell is looking to gather 1 million stories from South Australians regarding their relationships with technology.
These stories will feed into Dr. Bell’s ethnographic research and fieldwork to understand how people use technologies in their every day lives. Her aim is to identify issues around the further uptake of technologies for economic and social development.
She will also meet with people in schools, community groups, libraries as well as informal settings such as the local pub and the corner shop.
Genevieve is keen to hear from all members of the community and so South Australians can also share their experiences by
* completing a ‘SAstories’ postcard, being distributed broadly through networks in South Australia
* by visiting Genevieve’s ‘blog’ on http://www.sastories.com/ and posting a story on the website
* by emailing adelaidethinkers@dpc.sa.gov.au for a copy of the postcard.
Genevieve is reportedly going to visit as many towns in regional Australia as possible during February and March 2009 - so you may even get to meet her. If you do, how about sending a photo up to the internet and leaving the link here as a comment?
Here’s a sample story from well respected techno-geek/consultant Mike Seyfang: http://www.sastories.com/?p=303

Thanks for helping to spread the word about this ambitious project.
Pretty much anything online tagged with ’sastories’ will be considered for inclusion in Dr Bell’s research.
