Thanks for all the input into the myedna new service - simple is the key. The idea we have as a project team is to keep it simple and to start with your page will be created for you as soon as you register for any of the collaborative services. There will be a range of tools but if you want a lot and to do a lot you will still need to go to groups. myedna is much more for you and I am sure even with release 1 there will be a lot for users to do and get great value from.

I have been part of a really dynamic network of educators in Australia, the UK and the US and it all started through the social networking tool Twitter. see - http://twitter.com/flairandsquare/

From Twitter we found each other's blog's and have been sharing knowledge and resoufces at an alarming rate. What I like about Twitter is that I can pull the Twitter API Widget into my feed reader and be kept up to date with my network on the spot, it give me access to an immediate knowledge sharing network that has been extremely advantageous to my professional development. I also get share my knowledge and resources in return!

I find reading through large forums quite daunting and this little tool is succinct, you can send a short message and a link to your blog post or other online space where there is more detail. It's a great way to tap into what you're interested in when you have time constraints.

I am a computer literate teacher, who tried ot start a page in in the edna groups. the actual pages are so full of icons, bells and whistles that i had to give up trying to sret up my page - it was just to o time consuming to learn how!
The only thing I would ask for the new site is 'Keep it Simple' please.

In an eportfolio environment I believe it is essential to provide a selection of publishing options: private, for friends, for everybody.

The MyEdNA service seems to be shaping up to something I would use frequently. I moderate a few EdNA groups and having a fully functioning eportfolio tool in the same area will be great. All of the features listed above sound like they'll provide solutions for me.

I like having access to 'skins' or themes; linking with groups; wikis and blogs; and enough upload space for many digital stories in movie format.
