This is the last in four blog posts to summarise the first ‘proof of concept’ innovation project.
The POC team feel they have successfully prototyped a coherent vision for a myedna personalised learning space for educators, showing how educators can manage their own learning journey and digital identities.
Focused on allowing educators to discover, express and share, the POC team successfully prototyped a coherent vision; so the principles of a myedna environment would be:
- aggregate contributions that are already public
- default any contributions in myedna as a ‘public contribution’ (other than personal details)
- provide a place where an educator can selectively present a profile using keyword and tag filtering
- dynamically build communities based on collaborating, discussing and sharing resources
- integrate discovering, expressing and sharing at every opportunity
- complement not duplicate functionality provided elsewhere such as edna groups and lists
- stick to correct/best option when making user interface and functionality decisions, not provide multiple options
- create opportunity for further myedna development such as:
- reputation management
- full implementation of Taxonomy Directed Folksonomy
The myedna ideas prototyped can stand by themselves, however the real innovation is their combination and integration into a single environment to help educators discover, publish, share and collaborate.
The team wishes to thank all those involved with making this POC happen. It certainly been challenging, fun, and a great opportunity to participate in the process of innovation.
